The Keeping Sights Upward Journey Honors College has experienced significant recent growth of both its student population-now at nearly 1700 students-and endowment-currently at $25 million. The KSU Journey Honors College collaborates across the university and with community partners to support excellence in undergraduate education at Kennesaw State University. We recruit diverse, highly motivated, and academically talented students into honors cohort programs and general honors pathways. Honors curricula focus on providing opportunities for intellectual challenge, experiential learning, community engagement, leadership, and global education. They are designed to challenge students, entice their curiosity, and help them build knowledge, peer and professional networks, and important skills and competencies which will lead to their long-term individual success and ability to impact others. The Journey Honors College also supports excellence in undergraduate education through our office of National and International Scholarships and Fellowships which serves the entire university.
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month administrative faculty position as a tenured Associate Professor or tenured Professor and Associate Dean for Academics in the Keeping Sights Upward Journey Honors College beginning July 2023. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.
The Keeping Sights Upward Journey Honors College has recently experienced rapid growth in its student population. The Associate Dean for Academics will be a key member of the KSU Journey Honors College leadership team as we continue to build honors opportunities for students and continue the trend of growth. The Associate Dean advances the academic mission of KSU Journey Honors College.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Dean, the Associate Dean helps guide the honors faculty and staff in the implementation of honors academic programs and pathways, honors course staffing, and honors capstone experiences. The Associate Dean also supports and oversees national and international fellowship advising, a service the college provides for all Kennesaw State University students.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
