Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The Department of Architecture is home to the only NAAB accredited 5-year Bachelor of Architecture degree program in Georgia and currently has over 700 undergraduate students. The department includes 22 full-time and 25+ part-time faculty members with a robust portfolio of professional practice and research accomplishments. The Architecture Department prioritizes equity, diversity, and inclusion and are particularly interested in historically underrepresented voices, and we welcome candidates whose work and lived experiences will expand our conversations, perspectives, and practices.
Located in the rapidly growing metropolitan area of Atlanta, the Architecture Program offers a variety of unique opportunities for community, civic, and professional engagement, and is well connected to multiple cultural centers in the region. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, administrative, tenured faculty position as Professor and Chair of the Department of Architecture in the College of Architecture and Construction Management beginning July 1, 2022.
Responsibilities
Situated within the College of Architecture and Construction Management (CACM), this position reports to the CACM Dean and partners with the Construction Management Department Chair and the CACM Associate Dean(s) to create an environment of academic excellence in the College. As a key member of the College’s administrative leadership team, the next Chair will provide leadership and vision for the Department; continue to encourage effective collaborative relationships; strengthen the program’s mission; increase the resources available for research, including cross-disciplinary initiatives; and develop internship opportunities and alumni connections.
The KSU Department of Architecture is seeking an innovative and collaborative leader to foster the current strengths, reputation, and achievements and continue shaping the department’s vision, mission, goals, and objectives into the future. The new Department Chair will strengthen, encourage, and bring a strong commitment to the recruitment and retention of a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff.
