Senior Design Manager – This role is responsible for leading design strategy and innovation across a portfolio, translating consumer insights into benefits and experiences that are clearly communicated through iconic brand assets, packaging, product aesthetics and product design.

The incumbent reports into the Sector Brand Design Team Leader
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leading design strategy and best-in-class design work across all Brand touch-points, with a particular focus on packaging and product aesthetics design.
• Drive breakthrough creativity and competitive differentiation for our brands by delivering design work that elevates Brand Power scores and contributes to Net Sales Growth.
• Responsible for integrating innovation across functions and brand portfolio to ensure K-C stays cutting edge in our design approach and inventions.
• Innovative mindset to drive new design thinking across total consumer experience.
• Ability to seek out new and emerging trends within design and codify into capabilities for the organization.
• Supports design execution across functions to deliver consistency in our design intent across all brands.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional relevant experience
Preferred Experience/Qualifications: • Minimum of 8 years industry experience, specifically in a Design function, with ability to effectively manage and develop creative teams.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of cross-channel Design and multichannel marketing concepts.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet rigorous deadlines.
• Strong critical thinking, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
• Team player able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. Skilled in building relationships with strategic stakeholders.
• Conceptual thinker with a strong business sense and passion for innovation.
• Prior experience in consumer package goods is critical.
• Experience in end-to-end print packaging and production, detailed understanding of printing technology and current on packaging and printing trends.
Critical Skills/Qualifications: • Ability to work with a broad, big picture mindset connecting the dots to solve problems; able to manage the complexity of multiple stakeholders and diverse organizations.
• In depth knowledge and practice of divergent ideation and convergent filtering to support projects.
• Skilled in development brand design portfolio architecture.
• Skilled in visualizing strategy and narrative sketching.
• Storyteller with outstanding communication skills, especially the ability to influence key stakeholders by bringing data and consumer insights to life to drive better Design decisions and generate breakthrough experiences.
• Business acumen and experience with shoppers, retailers, and customer realities to ensure the brand experiences being developed have commercial viability.
• Collaborator with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams together around a common goal.
• Design portfolio that showcases exceptional end-to-end consumer experiences required; sketch portfolio assets preferred
• Understands design and consumer research methodologies and is skilled in facilitating research and/or influencing consumer research initiatives within K-C’s strategic community
• Understands how to think consumer first and apply Design Thinking in business initiatives
