Responsibilities:
Contributes to a positive and proactive safety culture. Demonstrates strong commitment and leadership to providing a sustainable, safe, and healthful work environment. Ensures full compliance with all applicable company and regulatory environmental, health and safety requirements.
Promotes, supports and ensures compliance with all food safety and quality practices, policies, and initiatives.
Fosters a workplace environment that is safe, respectful, inclusive and equitable.
Manages recruiting and staffing for hourly plant positions. Coordinates position postings, interviewing, selection, background checks and drug screening, selection, I-9 verification and partnering with employment agencies. Conducts outreach programs to build the employment brand in the community.
Designs and delivers effective onboarding and training programs.
Assists in designing, implementing and administering HR policies and programs; responds to inquiries regarding policies.
Advises managers and supervisors regarding appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Coaches and assists managers and supervisors with team member performance management, performance concerns, disciplinary actions, and administration of performance reviews.
Assists with the development and implementation of practices and programs to improve employee, engagement, recognition and retention.
Facilitates, coordinates and improves employee communication systems and procedures.
Cultivates and promotes positive employee relations in a non-union environment.
Plans, coordinates and executes team member events, meetings and celebrations.
Supports the HR Manager in compliance with employment regulations including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and IRCA.
Assists the HR Manager with recruiting for salaried positions and wage administration.
With direction from the HR Manager, conducts timely, thorough and objective investigations.
Supports the administration and communication of hourly benefits and wellness programs. Facilitates the resolutions of benefits issues, as required.
Administers the HR system (UKG) for hourly team members. Is well-versed on the payroll and time and attendance systems; resolves issues as needed.
Coordinates with Security in managing team member access control badges.
Maintains current and accurate job descriptions, personnel files, logs, training records.
Administers unemployment compensation procedures.
Regularly spends time on production floor to be available to all team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of relevant HR experience, preferably in manufacturing
PHR or SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred
Knowledge of employment regulations
Outstanding integrity, professionalism, confidentiality and personal accountability
Able to build productive partnerships with operations
Exceptional communication skills – written, verbal and presentation
Strong coaching, conflict resolution and rapport building skills
Effectively manages multiple priorities
Leverages data-driven solutions
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, HCM systems, and Time and Attendance systems
