We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative individual to join us as a Supply Chain Transportation Analyst as part of the Supply Chain Global Warehousing and 3PL Solutions organization. The Transportation Specialist, internally known as an Analyst I, is responsible for managing and executing transportation bookings, lane management, vendor on boarding and creating solutions that address the shipping needs of Kite’s internal and external customers for Raw Material, WIP and Samples, while ensuring we maintain compliance with all government agencies and reducing risk for Kite and the patient.
Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Transportation Specialist include:
Manages, executes and supports transportation activities within the Global Warehouse Network, 3PL operations and geographical expansion by developing and standardizing systems, processes, and SOP’s
Assist in global projects to support transportation initiatives, such as continuous process improvement and risk mitigation
Assist or Own Change Controls as required to implement/update processes or filings
Forecast and Budget operations spend for Supply Chain activities and needs
Develops, obtains approval and implements effective transportation and logistics strategies to achieve Kite Pharma goals
Manages and communicates shipping forecast and plans with Trade Compliance, 3PL and Kite sites
Books/creates shipments with 3PL service providers
Monitors shipment from Creation to delivery ensuring there are no delays and that the shipment is executed within set delivery times/expectations
Initiates, and manages cross-functional projects using appropriate project management expertise and methodologies
Develops and maintain key performance measures related to Transportation/Shipping Operation for the 3PL and Global Network
Initiate/Own deviations, initiates SCARS and remediate service issues related to transportation.
Manages and supports root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for global transportation deviations and exceptions
Partners collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve business goals related to clinical and commercial product
Accountable for reporting quarterly KPI’s and metrics and implementation of process improvement system

Basic Requirements:
MS / MA Degree
OR
BS / BA degree with 2+ years of manufacturing and/or operations experience
OR
Associates Degree with 4+ years of manufacturing and/or operations experience
OR
High School degree with 5+ years of manufacturing and/or operations experience
Preferred Qualifications:
4+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech cGMP operations or supply chain experience, including clinical and commercial with experience in Cold Chain Pharmaceutical Logistics and Good Distribution Practices
2+ years working within ERP systems on an order management level and pulling reports
In depth experience in Microsoft Excel (tables, arrays, formulas, conditional formatting)
Experience in life sciences industry such as cell / gene therapy, pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical devices
Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly fluid company environment with minimal direction
Demonstrates collaboration and respect, focuses on delivering value, and embraces learning and continual improvement
