Knight Agency Hiring for Front End Developer at Orlando, FL Full Time

We are looking for a local Senior Front End Web Developer who has experience leading projects that combine the art of design with the art of programming and building WordPress themes from scratch. We need someone who can work with clients to translate their needs into solutions, wireframes, designs and code. You will develop projects from scratch as well as work with graphic designers to bridge the gap between design and technical implementation, defining how the application looks as well as how it functions.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging user experiences based on UI/UX best practices

• Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface

• Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability

• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

• Provide website maintenance and enhancements

• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies

Skills and Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional development experience

• Understanding of website architecture and aesthetics

• Proficient in modern web technologies

• Experience with programming in PHP

• Knowledge of SQL Databases

• Proficient in WordPress Development and best practices (i.e. custom post types, taxonomies and WordPress template hierarchy)

• Experience building WordPress websites either from scratch or using a starter theme

• Good understanding of WordPress functions along with actions and filter hooks

• Proficient using the Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin to create dynamic content

• Proficient in CSS pre-processing platforms, such as SASS

• Knowledge of JavaScript libraries and 3rd party plugins to extend functionality, such as sliders and carousels

• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them

• Knowledge of UX tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, or Sketch

• Knowledge of versioning tools, such as Git

• Good understanding and application of SEO principles and best practices

• Professional presentation and communication skills

• Knowledge of task runners such as Gulp or Grunt

• Knows how to use Google “to be a problem solver” : )

Additional (Nice to have) Qualifications

• Knowledge of making websites ADA Compliant (WCAG 2.1 AA)

• Existing digital agency experience

• Experience with eCommerce implementation

• Experience with email systems such as Pardot, Hubspot or similar.
