With the retirement of President Morris W. Beverage, Jr. in August 2024, the Lakeland Community College Board of Trustees are now
accepting confidential nominations and expressions of interest for the college’s next president.
The college community is
seeking a visionary leader, who is motivational and a good listener, who is passionate about leading a student-centered institution and who
is committed to ensuring student success. The new president will lead the institution by setting a vision for the future of the college that
enhances the college’s quality educational programs and services and creates opportunities for innovation and growth while respecting
the college’s history.
Founded in 1967, Lakeland Community College occupies 400 acres in Lake County which borders Lake Erie
and is approximately 30 minutes east of downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Lake County is ideally situated, providing residents with access to Lake
Erie beaches, dozens of vineyards, wineries, and the nationally recognized Lake Metroparks.
The college currently offers 144
associate degree and technical certificate programs leading to high demand careers or transfer to four-year institutions. Additionally,
Lakeland’s Holden University Center is an affordable and convenient option for community members wishing to continue their education
with four-year partner colleges and universities. Lakeland Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the Ohio
Department of Higher Education authorizes and approves the offering of the college’s academic credit programs. In fall 2023 the
college enrolled 4,766 credit students (2,575 FTE).
A top priority for the next president will be to lead the development of
strategies and initiatives to reverse the enrollment challenges and to increase the rate of retention of current students while
simultaneously maintaining and ensuring the financial health and stability of the college.
