The Assistant Dean, Academic
Affairs is a full-time benefitted Managerial 3 position. The Assistant Dean is responsible for (but not limited to) many functions in
Academic Affairs including coordination of course scheduling across the College, the management of the College’s offerings associated
with high school programs, administration of processes affiliated with faculty minimum qualifications, administration of processes that
document articulation agreements with 4-year partners, and administration of the processes affiliated with academic integrity and
students’ grade appeals.
The position serves a significant role in coordinating/directing LCCC’s academic Pathways. This
includes coordinating all aspects of the College Success course to include faculty certification and approval, scheduling, and ensuring
continuity of necessary curricular components across all Pathways. The position will also coordinate the team of eight Pathway Coordinators,
providing structured and regular opportunities for collaboration and the sharing of community-based best practices. The position will
co-chair the Pathways Governance Council which may include ad-hoc committee service.
Other areas of responsibility will include
Academic Affairs project management and coordination, annual coordination of the Perkins funds to include reporting, direct assistance to
the SVPAA, policy management, and representation to both internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation: This is a Managerial Level 3
position. Starting salary: $67,258.00-$70,768.00.

Coordination of For-Credit Course Schedule
The position will work with each of the
School Deans to coordinate the development of a master course schedule.
Oversight of High School Programs
The position supervises the
Coordinator, Concurrent Enrollment.
Administrative Processing, SVPAA Office
Faculty Minimum Qualifications
The position administers those processes associated with confirming the minimum
qualifications of all faculty at LCCC.
Articulation
Agreements
This position administers those processes associated with the recording and monitoring of articulation agreements
with 4-year partners.
Academic Integrity
This position serves as the primary College respondent to first offense academic integrity cases
reported through Maxient:
Coordination of College Success Course
The
position coordinates several aspects of the College Success course at LCCC:
Coordination of Pathways Committees
The position coordinates two
groups associated with the implementation of Guided Pathways:
Project Management & Coordination
The position is responsible for the
management and coordination of projects within Academic Affairs as well as projects on behalf of the SVPAA that may be institution-wide,
and/or community college system-wide.
Projects and/or Research
The position functions as a researcher who develops, reviews, analyzes, implements,
monitors, and reports on college commission, state/federal legislative, internal budgetary, regional economic, programmatic, and/or other
internal/external stakeholders which influence/impact Academic Affairs. This will require the employee to remain aware of contemporary
affairs in Higher Education, as well as provide research briefings, condensing research findings into summaries, fact-checking/data-source
validation, etc. Representative tasks may include:
Assistance to the SVPAA
The position will be responsible
for serving in the role of primary assistant to the SVPAA:
