Accounting Associate / Payroll Specialist – Lee Beverage of Wisconsin

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Key Accounting Responsibilities
• Drive months end close process & Journal Entries
• Monthly Bank Account cash reconciliations
• Analysis of account balances & reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy
• Maintain fixed asset records
• Sales/Use Tax and other tax filings and governmental reporting
• Assist in Annual External Audit Process
• Reconcile Supplier bill backs and ensure collection
• Key Payroll Responsibilities
• Ensure accurate and timely set-up and processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and resignations
• Perform payroll data entry processing, including hours worked, compensation changes, commissions, incentives, deductions, garnishments, exemptions and withholding changes, direct deposit changes and any other payroll related actions as required
• Ensure data entry in HRIS accurately reflects the current employee base pay, commissions, benefits, holiday, paid time off, etc.
• Transmit payroll electronically through QuickBooks
• Maintain well organized payroll records, files and any payroll related documents
• Assist employees with payroll related questions and issues
• Ensures complete confidentiality of payroll data, records and personal information
• Review federal and state quarter and year-end filings, including W2s, 1095Cs, 941’s etc.
• Assist with the preparation of the company’s annual 401k and Profit-Sharing census
• Assist other departments with a variety of administrative duties including unemployment (pay) inquiries, company safety toed shoe program, etc.
• Work closely with Human Resources to ensure employee data stays accurate
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• 2 year Associate’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years of accounting & payroll
• Experience with QuickBooks software, payroll processing
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and Word software
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• High level of accuracy in preparation and entering of data
• Be able to problem solve and work independently in a team context
