Busy orthopedic office seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Medical Scribe to assist our healthcare team with documenting patient medical records.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Accompany physicians into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.

• List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.

• Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

• Document any procedures performed by the physician.

• Document work processes as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Performs related and delegated tasks, which includes request for prescription refills, taking and relaying messages, directing patient flow and running errands. Filling out forms for the physician or the patient.

• Provides appropriate patient education and health information materials that the physician might request.

• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures regarding employee or patient concerns; reporting needed changes to immediate supervisor.

• Work flexible hours and cover other offices when necessary.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Cross training in different locations and different areas.

• Operates the fax machine, copier, and multi-line phone systems.

• Monitor email for relevant company communications daily.

• Must be available for mandatory company or department meetings.

• Practice OSHA safety standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility: High School diploma or GED. Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Eligibility: All employees me be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States.
