A Network Technician, sometimes called a network installer, works under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent on installations, alterations, additions, and/or repair of structured cabling systems in low voltage, associated materials, and equipment on any type of project.

• JOB DUTIES
• A Network Technician may be required to perform any of the duties and responsibilities associated with classification NI (Network Installer) in addition to the following.
• Install and mount server rack and all peripheral equipment
• Installation of Audio/Video – Mounting TVs (Must be able to lift 50lbs)
• Computers/Monitor Installation and dress out
• Assembles and installs relay racks, network cabinets, wall fields, and associated components. and patch network for connectivity for connectivity
• Perform structured cabling installations in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems in structured cabling systems.
• Operates and hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks.
• Performs other project-related duties and assignments as instructed by the supervisor.
• Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.
• REQUIREMENTS
• Requires basic mechanical aptitude and mathematical and English language skills.
• Must understand basic communications theory and its application to installations.
• Must be able to work occasional overtime as required.
• Licenses: Current Driver’s License and must have own reliable transportation.
• Education: High School Graduate, GED or equivalent.
• Experience: MUST have 3 or more years of on-the-job communications work experience as well as demonstrated skills at the Technician level.
