As an Accountant you will prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• May perform cash flow forecasting.
• Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Prepare Check Previews for vendor payments, owner distributions, etc.
• Prepare, analyze and distribute monthly balance sheet, profit & loss, and other statements by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions.
• Calculate and record management fees in accordance with each location’s management agreement.
• Record debt service.
• Compute, prepare and arrange payment for multi-state sales, use and transient guest tax returns.
• Communicate tax updates and changes with property staff & verify they are collecting the correct taxes on revenue.
• Maintain property licensing for lodge/hotel properties.
• Create and maintain specialized reports as requested by management and hotel owners.
• Assist with financial and tax audits by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
• Provide information for property owner’s tax accountants and book resulting entries.
• Assist in due diligence preparation for sale of managed properties.
• As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Highly proficient with accounting software. Previous experience using Microsoft Dynamics SL preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software including data analysis using Excel.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
• Three to five years of accounting experience required.
• Multi-company hospitality environment experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
