POSITION TITLE: Human Resource Generalist
SUPERVISOR: Director of Human Resources
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Directs and monitors all functions of the Human Resources Department.
Primary duties:
· Assists in maintaining and updating HRIS and EWS systems.
· Prepares and processes Lena Pope and Chapel Hill Academy payroll twice a month.
· Works with Directors on all HR matters, including HRIS and EWS systems.
· Manages wellness committee, staff training, health and safety, and communications as needed
· Initiates or prepares correspondence, special reports and tabulations according to specific directions.
· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including liability and compensation.
· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility versification.
· Assists with on-boarding processes and employee recognition programs.
· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance management and training and development.
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Educational/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. PHR or SHRM-CP Certification required
2) Required Knowledge: Human Services and Non-Profit preferred.
3) Experience Preferred: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in human resource management with not-for-profit and/or governmental organization.
4) Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication and human relations skills; ability to organize, coordinate, and direct a variety of activities; strong oral and written communication skills; possess good judgment and decision-making skills; ability to use technical equipment such as cellphone and personal computer for on-going communication; provide excellent leadership and human relation abilities; ability to think quickly and clearly during stressful times; ability to communicate clearly and coordinate resources while experiencing high stress; ability to apply logical thinking to a wide range of issues
5) Other Requirements – Must have a driving record which is within the guidelines of the insurance underwriter. Must not have been charged with or convicted of a criminal offense that would disable the employment by failing to meet minimum standards as set by the Licensing Branch of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Pay: $45,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
