The HR Generalist coordinates recruitment and job placement activities along with administration and coordination of payroll and employee benefit plans for the organization. Coordinates employee-related programs and participates in resolution of employee relations problems to facilitate employee satisfaction. Assists with training, compensation and other Human Resources functions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements programs, plans, policies and procedures for recruitment, testing, selection and job placement
• Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills
• Coordinates the writing, review and edits of job descriptions
• Develops recruitment programs to attract applicants and fill specific job openings
• Develops and maintains contacts with educational institutions, employment agencies, placement firms and other sources of applicants
• Reviews resumes, screens applicants, schedules and conducts interviews, coordinates assessments, conducts background checks, coordinates drug screens and provides information about the position and organization
• Develops and implements new employee onboarding programs
• Prepares and maintains employee personnel files
• Processes payroll and maintains HRIS system – ADP
• Processes unemployment claims and represents the organization at hearings
• Communicates and counsels employees on the interpretation of company policies, procedures, governmental regulations, etc.
• Administers and coordinates employee benefit programs including medical insurance, flexible spending accounts, dental insurance, vision insurance, short-term/long-term disability insurance, life insurance, 401(k) plan, workers’ compensation, FMLA, Cobra, employee assistance program and other plans
• Evaluates and compares existing employee benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys and other sources of information
• Provides input/support and implements human resources strategy and initiatives that support achievement of corporate goals
• Analyzes human resources reports, identify trends/opportunities and proposes action plans

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
• Experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for education
• Two (2) years’ experience in Human Resources and/or benefits administration
• HRIS System – ADP experience preferred
• SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification preferred
• Knowledge of recruiting practices and applicable federal and state laws and regulations
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all types of people
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism and diplomacy
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Proficient in MS Office Suite applications (Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Critical thinking skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
