Job Description:

We have a great permanent, full time opportunity as Junior Staff Accountant, in where you will be responsible for supporting a fast growing company in Charleston, SC by providing transactional and reconciliatory assistance to the local Finance and Accounting team which supports the site. The candidate will contribute across multiple key accounting areas including Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable. The position is located in Charleston, SC and will be hybrid, requiring up to two days per week in the office

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Reconciliations — Reconcile general ledger accounts by identifying omissions or errors in posting by applying appropriate accounting standards
• Set up fixed asset objects within subledger in accordance with company policies
• Create fixed asset depreciation proposals and reconcile fixed asset subledger monthly
• Responsible for filing of fixed asset documentation
• Fixed asset schedule(s) and annual roll forward schedule
• Processing of customer invoices
• Handle external/internal customer and vendor inquiries via phone or email, including but not limited to processing customer credit card payments and supplier payment inquiries
• Review blocked customer orders for compliance with credit management policies
• Assist in month end closing activities (balance sheet reconciliations, accrual postings, etc.) by meeting tight deadlines to satisfy requirements set by group finance
• Review weekly payment run for accuracy and payment authorization
• Cross train on functions across both sites, which operate in three separate legal entities within IFS (ERP system deployed)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience required

• 1-3 years accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word with desire to improve skill set
• Experience with manufacturing ERP software preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
