THE TEAM

Core Data Services team is at the center of Data and Analytics initiative. We are in the beginning of our journey to build and enterprise data platform capable to be a true underpinning of any data needs for the enterprise. Our mission is to make reliable data available and enable value creation by the data community of engineers, analysts and decision makers. Core Data Services team consists of Delivery engineering and architecture team, Platform engineering team, Data Engineering, partner services and data operations team.

THE ROLE

As a Solution Architect within the Core Data Services team, you will assume a leadership role responsible for the comprehensive solution and architecture of our Enterprise Data platform. We are seeking an experienced professional with a track record of building solution to a large-scale systems at the enterprise level. This particular role is in Delivery engineering and Architecture where you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing end-to-end data solutions that empower our organization to harness the full potential of data. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to drive innovation and ensure the seamless integration of data and analytics within our ecosystem.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

• Solution Design: Develop comprehensive data warehouse and platform architecture blueprints, encompassing data modeling, ETL processes, data integration, storage, and data governance.
• Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend cutting-edge technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance our data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
• End-to-End Ownership: Oversee the complete lifecycle of data solutions, from requirements gathering and design to deployment and maintenance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Data Integration: Define and implement strategies for integrating data from various sources, both batch and real-time, to enable holistic insights.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize data warehouse performance to ensure efficient data processing and reporting.
• Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance best practices, including data quality, data lineage, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and translate them into technical solutions that drive business value.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture, designs, and processes for reference and knowledge sharing.
• Design and maintain datawarehouse systems such as big data processing solutions including but not limited to databricks, snowflake etc
• Manage and support production processes for large scale low latency Spark-based ETLs using Delta lake, S3, Kafka implemented in AWS
• Partner with peer leads in Core Data Services – data engineering, data enabling and platform engineering to ensure that all infrastructure and software needs are met

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Solution Architect with a focus on data warehouse and platform engineering.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, data integration, and data warehousing concepts.
• Hands-on experience with leading data warehousing and analytics technologies (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
• Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python,Java, SQL) and data manipulation tools.
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
• AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications (preferred).
• Strategic thinker with very strong focus on operational practices and service delivery
• Highly self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills

The expected compensation for this position in California is:

$144,000.00 USD – $180,000.00 USD
