Position Flow:
Cashiers and counter worker, take the orders, call out orders to grill, completes the order with beverages, processes payment and sends tickets back to grill cook
Cashier / Counter employees also prepare shakes and scooped Ice Cream, and at times, cook French fries and help out in the kitchen.
They are in charge of clearing and wiping the tables, stocking packets salt / pepper, and making sure the napkin and straw dispensers are filled. They also sweep and mop the floors, clean windows and take out trash. Cashier / Counter employees also worker assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, sweeping, mopping up spills, and carrying out trash.
Cashier / Counter Workers are supervised by a Manager, assistant manager, Shift Leader. Sometimes the owner of the franchise acts as the manager.
Counter workers must be able to get along with people and have a pleasant personality and a neat appearance. All positions require good health and physical stamina.
Working Conditions
Employees must work quickly and efficiently. You rarely get a chance to rest, and you are always on your feet.
Employees typically have to work their share of weekends, evenings, and holidays. Students must arrange work schedules that allow them to attend classes. Most cashier / counter workers and dining room attendants work fewer than thirty hours per week.
General Duties & Responsibilities Minimum Standards:
§ Understand completely and practices all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines of Cashier / Counter position.
§ Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times. Maintains a professional and obvious presence in your station and dining room.
§ Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Specific Cashier / Counter Duties & Responsibilities Minimum Standards
¨ Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
¨ Establish or identify prices of menu and merchandise items, and tabulate bills using Register and at times, calculators
¨ Greet customers entering establishments, MUST SMILE AND HAVE GOOD PERSONALITY.
¨ Making shakes properly – Thick and no left over is the goal
¨ Making and maintaining a clean shake area
¨ Restock station and watch dining room throughout shift
¨ Accuracy, speed, smiling, menu knowledge is a must
¨ Call out orders to grill before ringing in
¨ Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
¨ Issue Gift Cards and redeem coupons.
¨ Maintain clean and orderly Front counter areas.
¨ Monitor your register station to ensure that you have adequate cash available and that they
¨ Offer customer’s carryout or Dine-In service at the completion of transactions.
¨ Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
¨ Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
¨ Request information or assistance.
¨ Resolve customer small complaints.
¨ Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins.
¨ Process orders over the phone for pick-up.
¨ Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales.
¨ Compile and maintain non-monetary reports and records, coupons and contest totals.
¨ Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts and numbers of
Transactions.
¨ Post charges against guests’ credit cards or GC
¨ Sell Merchandise and other items to customers.
¨ Stock Cashier area and maintain proper inventory in the dining room and at condiment stations
¨ Going out front regularly for customer service, delivering orders, handing out and collecting comment cards and cleaning.
