Basic Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD Interim Secret clearance to start.
• Experience having successfully developed, matured, and deployed Machine Learning solutions to solve real business and technical problems.
• Experience designing and developing ML models and a knowledge of the frameworks and deep learning tools (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• DevOps experience including CI/CD pipelines to build, test, deploy.

Job Description
Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a Data Science / Machine Learning Engineer for an exciting, Orlando, FL position! You can enjoy working across teams that include other Machine Learning engineers, software engineers, system domain experts, and project managers to understand the fundamentals of our most challenging technical problems and how Machine Learning and Data Analytics may be applied to solve them.
In this position, you will:
• Lead the design of ML models, frameworks, pipelines, data strategies, and program processes that address these problems.
• Mature products that range from low TRL prototypes up to high TRL models and pipelines at a production quality and scale.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior ML engineers.
• Help establish the standard processes that will be applied to development and production-ready Machine Learning solutions.
• Be connected with research in academia, and the broader commercial trends, and help apply those best-of-breed solutions practically to help solve our technical challenges.
Desired skills
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• 6+ years experience working and leading Machine Learning based projects.
• Experience having successfully developed, matured, and deployed Machine Learning solutions to solve real business and technical problems.
• Experience with the “big data” problem and how to extract and exploit fundamental information from this type of data sources.
• Experience having led technical teams through multiple phases of development.
• Understand the technical risks associated with Machine Learning based solutions and factor mitigating strategies into project planning.
• Strong problem solving mindset with the ability to create solutions to difficult problems often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, ambiguous or incomplete data on a rapid schedule.
• Must have the ability to lay out technical roadmaps and communicate those plans and solutions to both highly technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
