Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Engineer for a position in Grand Prairie, Texas. Job Description:
As the lead engineer, you will be responsible for following the appropriate standards, processes, and procedures throughout the software development life cycle. The engineer will support technical leads with technical status and task schedules. The engineer will provide software guidance and training for the SW development team and the SW change process.
The selected candidate will provide guidance and training to a software engineering team through the software development life cycle from requirements analysis through final testing. The candidate will provide assistance and guidance along with domain experts to architect, define requirements, establish use cases, create sequence diagrams, evaluate/choose development tools & technology, design system components using relevant SW development methods, and document software designs and development.
As the lead, engineer will work on cross-discipline teams of systems, hardware, software, and test engineers while supporting all phases of application development from concept through qualification testing. Engineer will be working with remote Software Development team (Central Europe time zone).
The Locale:
Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience working with embedded software engineering teams through full software life cycle development.
Experience documenting software design, software process/plans and test plans & description.
Ability to present status to the customer and engineering/program management.
Proven software development and architecture experience for mission critical military applications with a minimum of Three (3) years of directly relevant embedded real-time professional experience.
The candidate must have experience with software integration with electrical systems, C/C++ programming, software engineering processes, and software product life cycle.
Experience with modern processor and board level architectures.
Work on cross-discipline teams of systems, hardware, software, and test engineers while supporting all phases of application development from concept through qualification testing.
The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at both programmatic and technical levels with subordinates, peers, senior management levels and the customer- Travel as required (quarterly, 1 week overseas typical)
Desired Skills:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or Applied Mathematics.
Proven Architecture Experience using modeling tools – Experience with SW Integration.
Experience with Qualification test planning and execution.
Experience having worked in multiple different SW teams or organizations.
Strong communication skills in order to adapt/explain solutions to different organizational environments.
