Overlooking beautiful Cayuga Lake, Longview offers independent and assisted living on a lovely 34-acre campus on South Hill, adjacent to Ithaca College with whom we partner closely. We are an organization entering an exciting period of change, including technology upgrades, campus renovations, and exploration of new programs and services. In collaboration with our leadership team and Board of Directors, our incoming Human Resources Director will be a key driver of this initiative.
Longview is seeking a knowledgeable, experienced, and easily approachable human resources generalist to join our leadership team and oversee all human resources and staff development functions for 65 employees. This key position reports to the CEO and is staff liaison to the Board of Director’s Personnel Committee.
Specific areas of responsibility include staff recruitment, screening, interviewing, hiring, orientation, and onboarding; job descriptions; human resources policies and procedures; employee handbook; staff training and development; staff engagement and retention; performance management; counseling and progressive discipline; benefits administration and communication; wage and hour administration; leave administration; OSHA reporting and workplace safety; personnel record keeping; employee notices and postings; coordination with Business Office staff who process payroll through an outside vendor.

Qualifications
· 3-5 years of experience as a human resources generalist
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college of university with a concentration in business management, human resources, or a closely related field
· Professional certification (HRCI, PRH, SPHR) highly desirable
· Strong working knowledge of all aspects of human resources administration and compliance
· Experience in organizations regulated by the New York State Department of Health a plus
· Fluency in diversity and inclusion principles and programs
· Ability to work in a focused, self-directed manner while balancing multiple priorities
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Personal conduct that is unfailingly positive, professional, and supportive
· Strong organizational skills and highly accurate recordkeeping
· Sound judgement with advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities
· Commitment to the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality
· Computer proficiency
· Prior experience researching and implementing HRIS systems highly desirable
· Ability to earn and keep the trust and confidence of others
