GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Vice President Marketing and Sales position provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that Loram has the proper marketing, sales, and customer service systems in place to design and develop customized product and service offerings, articulate and communicate value propositions to our customers, and negotiate favorable contracts while developing deep customer relationships that strengthen the Loram brand, increase market share and produce steady profitable growth. This position provides strategic leadership in all areas outlined and is accountable for driving exceptional results through effective management of people, budgets, relationships, and that deliver products and services above customer expectations while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, guided by the Mission, Vision, Corporate Values and Long-Range Business Plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strategic and Functional
Identify and lead strategic initiatives and best practices that position Loram as the respected leader and supplier of choice within the products and services we offer and as a trusted partner in solving complex customer problems in the railway industry.
Build and sustain organizational capabilities that ensure we develop expertise within the railroad infrastructure markets, create compelling proposals and business cases to support sales initiatives, conduct professional negotiations, and develop mutually beneficial relationships with customer decision-makers.
Cultivate and develop top-level industry relationships, maintain an awareness of current industry trends and actively participate in railroad industry events and organizations in order to predict competitive behaviors, enhance Loram’s brand and identify business opportunities.
Leadership and Talent Development
Develop a strong discipline of role clarity and hold self and leaders accountable for performance and collaboration with the whole enterprise, establishing and maintaining an inclusive and diverse culture that provides a positive employee experience and ensuring proactive performance management based on feedback, coaching and mentoring.
Financial
Responsible for managing departmental expense budgets of approximately $5M. Leads a total staff of approximately 25 people.
Develop strategies and direct product development resources to those projects and product features that generate the highest possible payback on our investment and produce long-term revenue growth.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree* in Business or Technical
Experience: 10+ years of experience in marketing and sales leadership positions. 10+ years leading teams.
Licenses/Certifications: Maintain railroad safety training and certifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s degree
Experience: 15+ years of experience in marketing and sales leadership position. 15+ years leading teams.
