Position Summary
The Employee Benefits Coordinator is responsible for administering various employee benefits programs, such as group medical insurance, and retirement for both classified and unclassified LSUHSC-NO staff and faculty. Under the supervision of the Manager Benefits & Retirement, the incumbent will provide excellence in customer service through identification and implementation of process efficiencies related to benefits data input and monitoring, as well as, applying best practices in customer service methodologies. Provides support for all insurance enrollment actions/issues, unit projects, and customer service initiatives. The incumbent will have frequent contact with stakeholders/customers/vendors in a typically stressful, time-sensitive environment. Responsible for the overall customer service experience within the Benefits unit.

Certification by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a Certified Professional (CP) or a Senior Certified Professional (SCP) will substitute for one year of the required experience.
