Louisiana State University invites applications for the position of Coordinator for Parent & Family Programs. Reporting to the
Manager of Parent & Family Programs in the Division of Student Affairs, the Coordinator will assist with the development of programming
that connects parents, families, and supporters with each other and creates opportunities for meaningful engagement and positive
partnerships with the university. Additionally, the Coordinator will inform and educate parents and families about resources, critical
issues, and topics relevant to student success.

Enhance Family Association Membership Benefits: The LSU Family Association is over 6,000 families strong, yet there is still room
for growth in memberships and how families are served. The Coordinator will have an opportunity to develop and launch new ways for families
to engage through the creation of Regional and Affinity groups to better connect families to LSU and each other.
Enhance Family
Communication: Parent & Family Programs recently implemented the LSU Family Hub, which is a new communication system that allows us to
communicate with families consistently and with a built-in structure. The Coordinator will have the opportunity to enhance the capabilities
of the new system by curating content from departmental contacts and helping to develop additional content based on needs identified from
day-to-day communication with parents and families.
Improve student employee training and development: Student employees are vital
team members in managing the family experience. By creating an onboarding process, continuous development opportunities, and setting
performance expectations and accountability/feedback processes, the Coordinator will be able to build the Parent & Family Program
student employee program as go-to team members for parents and families.

ABOUT PARENT & FAMILY PROGRAMS:
LSU Parent & Family Programs is
dedicated to helping families transition to the University and offering opportunities for parents, families, and supporters of LSU students
to more closely partner with us throughout their student’s experience. Through various programs, services, events, and experiences, we
foster a strong sense of community and involvement among parents and families, keeping them informed about campus life, academic resources,
and opportunities for engagement. By facilitating communication, providing guidance, and creating opportunities for families to connect with
each other and the university, LSU Parent & Family Programs plays a crucial role in supporting student success and building a supportive
network for the entire LSU community.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Family Support (40%): Assists with
communication and engagement with families through established communication channels. Translates department efforts, initiatives, and goals
to families through interactions at programs, services, events, and experiences. Serve as the liaison between families and the leadership in
the unit. Develops initiatives to proactively engage with, inform, and support all families as they navigate the LSU experience.
Program Support (30%): Coordinates logistics, expenditures, and responsible for operations for programs, events, experiences, or services
within Parent & Family Programs, including but not limited to Family Weekend, Spring Family Fling, Family Association events, and Tiger
Family Talks. Supports ongoing design, facilitation, and assessment for annual Parent & Family Programs events.
Administrative
Support (15%): Responsible for day-to-day operations for Parent & Family Programs through administrative management, customer service
support via email and phone calls, supervision of student employees.
Quality Control (10%): Ensures every aspect of programmatic
outputs including administrative tasks, implementation, and overall design exudes a high degree of quality. Embraces and executes the
marginal gains approach and seeks to improve level of all services, events, programs, and experiences in department for continuous
improvement every academic year.
Other Duties As Assigned (5%): Assumes other duties as assigned by the Manager of Parent &
Family Programs. This includes but is not limited to efforts that support broad division/institution efforts including at least 40 hours per
year spent helping divisional initiatives such as Move-In Day, Welcome Week, Career Expo, Disability Services Finals Testing, other special
projects, etc.

Ability and willingness to work some evening and weekend hours.
This position may be asked
to work during an official closure, but who is otherwise not required toreport to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence
does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.
As with all LSU employees, due to
this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services.
Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should
be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a
danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law
enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient
confidentiality.
