JOB DESCRIPTION

Logistics Manager

Schedule: M-F 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM and as necessary

Reports To: Supply Chain Director

Primary Responsibilities

Implementation of the R.M. Lucas Co. Quality Assurance Program.

o Ensure that orders ship promptly when ready.

o Ensure on-time delivery of shipments.

o Record Shipper delivery data, scheduled pickup and delivery dates vs. actual.

o Utilize Freight Supplier quality metrics to determine which shipping companies to deal with.

• Ensure that equipment and work area is clean and organized, including the exterior dock area.
• Ensure that all raw materials and finished goods are properly labeled.
• Ensure that all boxes and containers are closed.
• Ensure that all finished goods are covered to prevent soiling.
• Assemble orders according to the Work Order, marking each pallet with the Customer Name and Location.
• Ensure that all containers are properly placed, upright and level and properly labeled and marked.
• Label all pallets with the SAP Label
• Ship all finished goods on a FIFO basis.
• Ensure correct lot numbers and quantities for all products shipped.
• Receive all incoming shipments, match to a Lucas PO and store behind any newer inventory. Label with SAP pallet labels.
• Examine all sample orders to ensure proper labeling prior to shipment.
• Ensure safe and secure storage of hazardous materials in accordance with the R.M. Lucas Co. Hazardous Materials Security Plan.

• Maintain and use Proper Personal Protective equipment including steel toed shoes, eye protection, gloves, liquid resistant, smock and a Respirator as necessary.

• Safe and responsible operation of forklift and other plant equipment.
• Arrange inbound and outbound transport.

Maintain current knowledge of hazardous material shipping regulations as well as international shipping requirements for all products including dangerous goods.

· Maintain certifications to ship hazardous materials via UPS, FedEx, Etc.

· Communicate with production to set order processing and shipping priorities.

· Generate shipping documents including hazardous materials shipping documents.

· Freight quotes.

· Research and negotiate with freight companies, providing the best service and price.

· Manage freight damage claims and related supplier complaint forms.

· Proficient knowledge of office systems to perform job responsibilities.

Secondary Responsibilities

· Item set up and maintenance.

· Customer set up and maintenance.

· Supplier set up and maintenance.

· Misc. Projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80.00 – $100,000.00 per year
