The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial reports, maintaining general ledgers, and performing basic bookkeeping tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of Lumifi’s financial operations.
This position requires a person with demonstrated professional demeanor, and the ability to learn and accomplish a wide variety of day-to-day responsibilities that ensure success. The Junior Accountant role is onsite, full-time, operating from the front desk.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Record financial transactions and input data in NetSuite, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Assist with processing invoices, preparing payments, and managing collections
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
- Support the preparation and posting of journal entries, maintaining an accurate general ledger
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Monitor and report on company expenses, ensuring they are within budget
- Prepare documentation and provide support during internal and external audits
- Provide support to senior accounting staff in various tasks, including budget preparation and financial analysis
- Perform general administrative tasks to include but not limited to:
- Oversee and maintain the reception area
- Meet and greet clients, vendors, candidates, new hires
- Administration of parking passes and office badges
- Ordering of office materials, lunches and meals/food for meetings
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 0-2 years of accounting experience (internship or entry level roles are beneficial)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong Proficiency in Office 365. Specifically, Excel
- Previous experience with NetSuite, strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
