Job description

Lutheran Home of Southbury, a premier 5 star Medicare certified facility, has an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative team. We are currently seeking a Payroll Manager/Human Resources Generalist This is full time, salaried position that reports to the Administrator.

The Human Resources Generalist/Payroll Manager oversees the payroll processing, benefit administration, employee relations, attends daily Department Head Meetings, and quarterly QAPI meetings.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee weekly payroll
• Benefit Administration, responsible for health care plans and 403(b) plan, assisting inquiries and serving as contact person for employees and broker
• Process all types of employee leaves, FMLA, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
• Manage Worker’s Compensation and maintain OSHA Logs
• Responsible for managing unemployment and representing facility at all hearings
• Coordinate general orientation
• Perform background checks on all new hires
• Develop and place recruitment ads
• Process all new hires, terminations, and pay increases
• Maintain all employees H.R. files, ensuring confidentiality of employee records, releasing authorized information regarding employment verification following facility policy regarding all inquiries.
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline preferred
• Knowledge of Federal and CT State Employment and Labor Laws
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Previous experience in a Long Term Care setting preferred
• Prior experience with payroll
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
