The Marketing Assistant will directly work with the Celadon Books marketing team to create awareness for books through trade and consumer marketing campaigns, from conception through publication. The Marketing Assistant will fulfill administrative functions for the SVP, Associate Publisher and work as a liaison with the sales team to support their efforts with Celadon Books.What you’ll do:Title Marketing:* Work with marketing team on ideation of marketing campaigns and materials* Oversee the Celadon workflow in Hive (project management platform) to make sure all steps are completed for the lifespan of a book* Facebook and Google SEM advertising: strategize audiences, create ads, pull data and report on the effectiveness of the campaigns* Design graphics for advertisements, retailers, blog posts, and other outreach* Write copy for website articles, newsletters, and other marketing materials* Coordinate mailings for early reviewers, influencers, and partnersSales Support:* Assist with platforms like NetGalley, Goodreads, and Edelweiss to set up giveaways, manage requests, and upload assets* Coordinate mailings for booksellers, librarians, and internal sales team members* Collaborate on strategies for working with booksellers and online retailers and assisting with the management of those relationships* Gather assets for and schedule meetings with the sales teamAdministrative:* Assist the SVP, Associate Publisher with scheduling and communications* Oversee expense tracking for marketing department and the Associate Publisher and submitting all necessary paperwork on time to the finance office* Complete monthly invoice logging and reportingWhat you’ll bring:* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required* A creative thinker who will contribute new ideas to the team* Initiative and desire to work successfully in a fast-paced, small team environment, self-directing day-to-day activities and prioritization; strong attention to detail, with an ability to follow-up on items to ensure tight timelines and releases are met* Organized and able to manage multiple projects at one time* Proficient at learning new platforms, databases, and processesIdeal Experience/Education* Experience in the field of publishing or media, preferably in marketing or advertising/promotions* Online experience or an equivalent facility with content marketing and social media* Strong writing and design background* Photoshop, WordPress, Excel and Google Suite experience strongly desired* Calendar and scheduling experience a plus* College degree or higher with a focus area in publishing, marketing, or design desiredMacmillan Publishers is a global trade book publishing company with prominent imprints around the world, publishing a broad range of award-winning books for children and adults in all categories and formats.
