We are offering an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team as a per diem Anesthesia Tech working at Thayer Center for Health in Waterville.
The Anesthesia Technician assists the Anesthesia personnel in the preparation for and performance of direct patient care; cleans, disinfects, orders, and stocks supplies; assists in the maintenance and preparation of instruments, equipment and monitors; and is responsible for maintaining a clean, neat environment with adequate supplies.
The ideal candidate will have:
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred.
1 year or more, prior clinical experience preferred
Anesthesia Technician Certification preferred.
Listed as active on the State of Maine CNA Registry preferred.
Basic analytical ability required to troubleshoot equipment.
Assists with transport of equipment to other parts of the Hospital.
Assists with preparation of equipment, solutions and calibration of equipment.
Demonstrates knowledge and practice of asepsis and BSI in all activities.
Assists in room turnover.
Maintains manufacturer’s instructions for equipment relative to this area.
Maintains an inventory of equipment.
Cleans and restocks cabinets, carts and workroom.
Practices good communication skills with all staff, Physicians, patients and families.
Helps maintain a safe environment.
Orders drugs and supplies.
Reports equipment repair/maintenance needs to appropriate personnel.
Makes recommendations regarding changes in supplies, organization or procedures to enhance quality of care or efficiency following established protocol.
