JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Sales & Marketing for Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa will be responsible for total top-line revenues relative to guest rooms revenue. This role will lead a team of skilled sales leaders to drive strategy and create optimal business mix targets.

What you will be doing..

• Responsible for providing over-all strategic direction to a team of a talented team of driven Sales & Catering professionals to achieve excellent results and revenue generation.
• Oversight of Resort’s Marketing effort to include all top-line revenue streams.
• Prepare and report weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual strategic plans/results to target key stakeholders.
• Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include (but not limited to): Annual/Monthly Forecast, Group Booking Pace, STR Reports and Sales Meeting minutes.
• Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new Sales and Marketing Strategies.
• Direct and manage all group, transient, and catering/banquet sales activities to maximize revenue for the hotel.
• Develop rates, group sales and catering deployment strategies through the review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management.
• Professionally represent the hotel in the community and industry organizations and events.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3yr(s) of experience as a DOSM – in a similar position type property – resort and/or destination product experience, Required.
• Marriott Experience, Required.
• Experience managing and leading sales / catering team of 5 or more associates, Required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Marriott OneYield.
• BA/BS 4-5 year degree or foreign equivalent and or combination of experience.

Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
