The Team

The Digital Experience team, part of MassMutual’s Enterprise Technology & Experience organization, designs, builds, and supports the company’s digital assets for customers and financial professionals. Digital Experience is composed of collaborative, diverse, cross-functional teams who like to have fun. We challenge each other and are energized to create innovative solutions that exceed the changing needs of our users. To help us achieve our mission, we are hiring team-oriented Full Stack Developers at all levels to help us take our customer and financial professional experiences to the next level.
The Role and your impact
As a Full Stack Developer at MassMutual, you will have the opportunity to:
Build meaningful features that increase our user adoption and ease of use of our digital experiences;
Contribute to all levels of our technology stack, from the front end (HTML, CSS, React) to our back end (MongoDB, PostgresSQL, and Vertica) and everything in between (Kafka, NodeJS, Java Microservices);
Help our customers protect the ones they love by providing them the digital tools to do so;
Improve the way our financial professionals help our clients to secure their futures;
Continuously learn and share both technology and leadership skills;
Incorporate the latest security and identity management tools;
Help the foundational technologies that support all of our apps; and
Work collaboratively with product owners, engineers, designers (to name a few) to generate creative solutions to technical challenges.
The Qualifications
An ideal candidate for this role will have:
At least 1 year of full stack development experience building and deploying responsive web apps using cloud based platforms like Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform;
Experience with javascript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React JS, Vue);
Solid experience with object-oriented programming and functional programming;
A belief in Dev/Ops practices and clean coding principles;
An understanding of branching and merging strategies such as Gitflow;
A passion for working on cross-functional teams and collaborating with other teams across MassMutual to deliver high-quality customer experiences;
A love for using data to drive decisions to help build better patterns and solutions;
Experience leveraging REST based APIs to build applications; and
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in fields including computer engineering, computer science, and/or information systems.
