Position Overview:

MassVR is looking for a Generalist Programmer with working knowledge of Unreal Engine to join our Development team in creating immersive VR gaming experiences. With a passion for video games and a drive to create unique projects, the Programmer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and debugging features for established and upcoming titles.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is passionate about video game development, virtual reality, and user experience

• Is detail-oriented and resourceful to address unique projects and problems

• Can make informed decisions throughout the development process

• Can self-manage and meet individual and team deadlines

• Can contribute to the planning, design, and creation of games from conception to finalization

• Is able to analyze and assess the needs of various audiences to inform the game-making process

• Understands code and blueprint lifecycle of Unreal Engine application

As a Programmer, you will:

• Develop and implement clean and professional game software

• Coordinate with the game development team to create task lists and deliverable timelines

• Take ownership of both new features and existing projects

• Demonstrate and apply strong problem-solving and debugging skills

• Work in coordination with programmers, artists, animators, level designers, and sound engineers to implement high-quality features

Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field

• Experience developing with C++/C#

• Self-motivated and organized; able to work independently

• Able to balance multiple tasks and timelines

Preferred:

• Experience networking and optimizing/profiling multiplayer games

• 1+ year experience in game development

• Experience with the Unreal game engine, or other similar engines

This position can work remotely or based in the Chicago, IL area. This position is eligible for health and dental benefits, 401k, sales-based bonuses, flexible work schedules, accrued and bonus PTO days, and additional office holidays.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
