General Summary
Telecom Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor. This role supports Broadband projects in our Telecom Construction Division. A Telecom laborer will handle projects of various complexities and perform site work.
Essential Functions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. install insulating materials
2. operate floor sanding machine
3. anchor or brace wooden structures, frameworks, or forms
4. build or repair structures in construction, repair, or manufacturing setting
5. cut, shape, fit, or join wood or other construction materials
6. dig holes or trenches for foundations, posts, poles, or related items
7. erect scaffold
8. finish concrete surfaces
9. grade or redistribute earth for roads or other construction
10. install prefabricated building components
11. install siding or sheeting
12. maintain or repair construction machinery or equipment
13. measure and mark lay out for construction projects
14. operate jackhammer
15. operate pneumatic tamper to patch pavement or tamp earth
16. operate power construction equipment
17. perform safety inspections in construction or resource extraction setting
18. repair cracks, defects, or damage in installed building materials
19. use concrete fabrication techniques
20. use measuring devices in construction or extraction work
21. verify levelness or verticality, using level or plumb bob
22. apply plaster, stucco or related material
23. understand construction specifications
24. mix mortar, grout, slurry, concrete, or related masonry material
25. prepare site or surfaces for concrete or masonry work
26. use surfacing machine to polish terrazzo or concrete
27. mix paint, ingredients, or chemicals, according to specifications
28. paint walls or other structural surfaces
29. prepare building surfaces for paint, finishes, wallpaper, or adhesives
30. use basic carpentry techniques
31. use hand or power woodworking tools
32. use spray paint equipment
33. climb ladders, scaffolding, or utility or telephone poles
34. move or lift heavy objects
35. work as a team member
36. operate land or site surveying instruments
37. use hazardous disposal techniques
38. use hazardous materials information
39. adhere to safety procedures
40. clean rooms or work areas
41. control operation of compressors
42. clean equipment or machinery
43. fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand
44. assemble and install pipe sections, fittings, or plumbing fixtures
45. apply adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatings
46. apply cleaning solvents
47. assist mechanic, or extractive or construction trades craft worker
48. load, unload, or stack containers, materials, or products
49. lubricate machinery, equipment, or parts
50. move materials or goods between work areas
51. operate hoist, winch, or hydraulic boom
52. operate power driven pumps
53. position, align, or level machines, equipment, or structures
54. read tape measure
55. read work order, instructions, formulas, or processing charts
56. signal directions or warnings to coworkers
57. use hand or power tools

Education, Training and Experience
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, one (1) year relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and/or alcohol testing.
