Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Our fully-accredited non-profit private school combines traditional academics with therapeutic intervention and pre-vocational skill development. Our Adult Services Program includes five licensed community residences/group homes and two adult learning centers. Matheny’s Arts Access program empowers individuals with disabilities to create art without boundaries. Matheny has a career opportunity available for a Part Time Receptionist for Monday – Friday, 4:00pm-8:00pm.

Duties of this position include:

• Operates switchboard to receive incoming calls; Forwards calls or takes messages as appropriate.
• Receives visitors in a welcoming and professional manner; Establishes visitor’s identity, purpose of visit, and contacts appropriate staff member.
• Maintains the appearance of the reception area so it is in a clean, neat and attractive state.
• Maintains knowledge of paging system and utilizes it in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Provides a variety of support services to staff such as photocopying, collating, and light typing.
• Maintains up-to-date procedures for reception area responsibilities and ensures their proper implementation.
• Facilitates telephone contact between patients/students and their families.
• Orients and trains relief reception staff in accordance with administrative and departmental policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
