Essential Responsibilities
Unit tests code, writes automation scripts, performs peer code reviews, merges and maintains code repository
Collaborates and communicates with a diverse set of departs such as UX, Product, QA, and other developers to bring value to the company and to solve technical problems
Able to build custom JavaScript/React components/modules that can be reused by other developers
Develops and maintains web-based components and applications to generate sales and profit from web activity as well as drive traffic to Mattress Firm’s brick and mortar locations
Follows web development best practices, processes, and procedures
Follows technical and coding standards including security standards and ADA WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliance
Participating in Agile Team ceremonies; daily standup, pointing, planning, review, and retrospectives
Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date
Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all
Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts
Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation
Communicates any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations
Non-Essential Responsibilities
Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Contributes ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company
Education
Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience required
Master’s Degree Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
Professional Experience
4+ Years of experience in frontend development (HTML, SASS, React, Typescript, APIs, Analytics, Unit Testing, CI/CD) required

Scope
Works is accomplished with limited direction. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
Under general supervision, proceeds alone or regular duties, referring questionable cases to supervisor.
Failure to achieve results or erroneous judgments may require the allocation of additional resources to correct and / or achieve goals.
Contacts are primarily within the department or function with occasional cross-functional interfaces. Some limited external customer contact on routine matters.
