Assistant Warehouse Manager

Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager oversees the complete operations of an assigned Distribution Center. Responsibilities includes oversight of all receiving, stocking, and distribution of all inbound and outbound product, as well as all other day to day tasks through the proper enforcement of company policies and procedures. The Warehouse Manager is also responsible for the recruiting, training, and development of a successful warehouse team, along with the support of the location Assistant Managers and the Regional Distribution Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Ensure the company’s high level of customer service expectations and operational integrity are met and/or exceeded on a daily basis
· Delivery of accurate, timely and professional delivery service to our customers by ensuring proper routing, order selecting, loading, and scheduling processes are being followed
· Ensure all inbound deliveries, are properly scheduled, received, verified, and stored
· Delegate and supervise daily warehouse tasks such as cycle counting, consolidation, replenishment, and fleet/equipment maintenance
· Create and manage weekly schedules for all personnel including Assistant Managers, Warehouse Team, Delivery Drivers, and Administrative Assistant
· Ensure all administrative functions are completed in a timely and accurate fashion. This includes but is not limited to: invoice reconciliation, cash handling, bank deposits, payroll reporting, review of routing/driver performance, and driver logs.
· Analysis of proper staffing levels. Interview, hire, train, and develop facility staff including Assistant Managers, Warehouse Associates, Delivery Drivers, and Administrative Assistants
· Promote safe working conditions and monitor employees to ensure safe operation of delivery fleet and equipment within the warehouse
· Effective communication within the location and within the Company, as well as successful interaction with outside vendors and customers
· Other duties as required
Experience/Education
· Education: Minimum High School diploma or GED required
· Experience: Previous supervisory experience (direct supervision of employees); experience in the receiving, storage and customer distribution of product preferred
Key Competencies:
· Ability to implement and supervise assigned tasks
· Ability to motivate and inspire others to carry out assigned tasks
· Knowledge of product flow within a distribution environment
· Experience with current software, methods, tools and equipment (including technology) used in distribution operations
· Ability to carry out oral and written instructions
· Ability to communicate effectively
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
Work Environment/Physical Demand
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a normal working warehouse environment.
· Duties of this job will require, but are not limited to lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling of objects weighing a minimum of 75+lbs., standing on concrete floors, walking for extended periods of time, stooping, bending, twisting, and being exposed to loud noises and various temperatures and scents. Duties also include dealing with a variety of employee situations.
