Position description
With oversight of the HR Service Center, called HR Connect, and Compliance, the Director of Operations is responsible for leading and managing activities to deliver excellent service to Mayo Clinics’ Allied Health employees and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including affirmative action.
Position Requirements:
Responsible for establishing, leading, and sustaining HR’s execution of its vision and strategic direction in support of Mayo Clinic’s overall vision and strategic goals.
Accountable for an operational dashboard or set of metrics to achieve top decline performance vs. external benchmarks.
Drive innovation, including challenging the status quo to implement cutting-edge solutions and programs to advance strategic priorities.
Responsible for the execution of the HR priorities, including its strategic plan, program implementations, resource allocation, and ensuring deliverables meet expected outcomes and measurements are achieved.
Demonstrate exemplary collaboration and alignment across all HR and other partners to ensure proactive, ongoing communication and approach with positive internal customer relations, keeping ‘One HR’ in mind.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships with internal and external partners.
Management of teams and individuals directly and indirectly.
Optimization of operational performance
Respond with agility to evolving circumstances, breaking down barriers in the workplace to meet changing circumstances, advancements, or technologies.
Monitor the performance of internal and external partners, ensuring effective outcomes and delivering on contractual agreements.
Leverage data and analytics to drive reporting, insights, and quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with five years of relevant professional experience required. Career experience must include demonstrated human resources knowledge, leadership and management capabilities, and ability to work collaboratively with others as part of an integrated team. Excellent interpersonal relationships with HR colleagues, leaders, employees, and team members. Experience must include demonstrated agility in thinking and delivering/execution of work and strategic priorities. Strong critical and systematic thinking skills are required. Customer focus/operations certification (i.e. SHRM certification or equivalent) is required or must be attained within three years of appointment.
Additional qualifications
Master’s degree and relevant certifications preferred. Strong communication, empathic capabilities, coaching, facilitation, relationship building, team building, organization and critical thinking skills are preferred. Previous people management experience, including performance management and development is preferred.
Preferred Experience:
Direct oversight for service delivery and operational excellence in HR Service inclusive of call center(s) and compliance
Proactive monitoring of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Accountability for an organizations’ AAP planning and compliance broadly
Advanced knowledge of call center operations
Process improvement and innovation data analysis to drive results
In-depth understanding of HR operations, systems, and policies
Self-starter, confident in his/her abilities, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with little supervision

Compensation Detail
Required education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $4,818.40 -$6,987.20 based on a full-time position.
