We need someone to keep us running…

The HR/Office Administrator executes day-to-day administrative and people functions necessary to ensure that the company’s physical office operates efficiently while also interacting with contractors and support providers. We are looking for someone sharp, who gets sh*t done and does it right…but can also seek out new solutions and opportunities. This position will be based at our main facility and offices, currently located in Rockville, MD. Some hybrid remote work is likely.

Flexible schedule, ideal for someone who has worked in/adjacent to a Human Resources role and is looking for PT work. Flexible (M-F, daytime) 15-25 hours a week to start based on company needs and applicant availability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (A SAMPLING…)

• Receive and sort incoming mail and packages
• Assist accounting department with data entry/filing as requested
• Oversee office organization and coordinate equipment and office supply needs
• Put together materials for distribution as requested
• Provide project support to department managers as needed
• Work with managers on performance management and improvement tracking systems, filing
• Employee orientation, training logistics, and recordkeeping
• Assisting with employee relations and benefit support
• Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting and employee services
• Maintaining employee files and the HR filing system
• Update employee phone directory and maintain a database of employee contact information
• Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
• Ensure that managers compute and record payroll data as scheduled–working with them to track and resolve payroll errors
• Provide benefit information and orientations, as needed
• Processes enrollments, changes, and terminations of participants in all benefit plans and programs
• Assist employees with any benefit claim issues or concerns
• Provide training manuals and company handbooks; collaborates on policies and procedures
• Provide any requested screening for applicants, schedules interviews for the manager on each division (if requested)
• Work with managers to conduct new-employee orientation, prepares paperwork required for new hires and establishes personnel files
• Assumes other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team

REQUIREMENTS

• Bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English) – Preferred but not required
• Passionate about being part of a small team genuinely dedicated to making a positive impact
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Administration, Operations, Organizational Development or HR
• Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communication

Job Type: Part-time
