We are hiring a full-time HR Manager in our Durham, NC office to join our engaged and dependable HR team. This position will require a high level of attention to detail and be responsible for working closely with the business to provide excellent customer service to internal clients.

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for implementing and managing human resources policies and programs in the areas of recruitment, employment, employee relations, and equal opportunity employment in compliance with government regulations and company goals. This role partners with Leadership to support and implement effective short and long term strategies to attain organizational objectives. Combines HR mastery and industry knowledge to appropriately evaluate and resolve complex HR issues within a fast paced and changing business environment.

Essential Functions + Responsibilities

• Serves as consultant to management. Develops and maintains strong partner relationships with the business and key stakeholders to coach and influence the best business decisions. May provide direction to others on certain aspects of a project(s) using established policies and precedents.
• Applies knowledge of enterprise goals, business environment, and functional needs to design and develop plans; executes strategies and methods in alignment with company and site goals and HR policies and practices.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Assists managers and employees in resolving complex employee relations issues and partners with HR senior management and the legal department as needed/required.
• Participate in HR strategic planning & continuous improvement processes (recommend and implement HR policies and processes to ensure a satisfied, engaged, and high performing workforce; participate in a broad range of HR initiatives such as performance management, workforce training & development, compensation / total reward-related activities, etc.).
• Point of contact for questions and gathering ongoing feedback for continuous process improvement. Assist with developing strategy and programs for the overall business deployment and management of employees in a way that encourages the attracting, engaging and retaining employees.
• Maintains high visibility to promote HR programs and assist employees and management with a broad range of needs. This includes job-level evaluation / position descriptions, recruiting, screening, interviewing, reference verifications, and compensation and relocation preparation.
• Lead, assess, coach and develop HR staff. Manage performance and ensure expectations and objectives are met.
• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications + Preferences

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related field and minimally 7 years of experience in Human Resources or related role, preferably with three years in a generalist role.
• Expertise with benefits and Employment Law. Experience with HRIS (ADP Preferred) and ATS applications, recruiting, employee relations, investigations, HR Compliance, benefits and total compensation plans.
• Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, facilitate projects and business processes and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong partnership, consulting, and problem-solving skills required.
• Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience creating reports from an HRIS strongly preferred.
• Highly organized with excellent time-management, prioritization, analytical, and reasoning skills
• High degree of initiative and desire to be innovative
• PHR and /or SHRM CP certification highly preferred
