Location
MTCC is located in Marion, N.C., a small, pleasant town at
the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains with the tagline, “Where Main Street Meets the Mountains.” Just off Interstate 40, Marion is located
approximately 35 miles east of Asheville in McDowell County.

Qualifications: A Master’s Degree is required, with a minimum of five years working experience
in classroom education or a combination of experience in a teaching and learning environment. Prior experience in leadership roles is
preferred. Must be able to utilize appropriate business software, including word processing, spreadsheet and database. Must be proficient
with Microsoft and other applicable computer programs. Must possess confidence to deal with visitors, instructors, staff and students
effectively through excellent communication skills. Must be a team-player and be able to multi-task. Must be able to maintain confidential
information.

The Associate Dean of Business,
Arts and Sciences is responsible for ensuring the delivery of College Transfer, General Education, and Business Technology
curriculum programs and courses. Responsibilities include dual enrollment that falls within cooperative innovative high schools and Career
& College Promise programs, work-based learning, and apprenticeships. The position provides direct supervision for department chairs and
lead faculty to support the College mission and the Vision 2025 Strategic
Plan .
The Associate Dean helps ensure that quality support is provided for faculty and staff by leading strategic
efforts to provide quality learning opportunities for students. The Associate Dean provides leadership, serves as a member of the leadership
team to motivate others, and facilitates change while effectively managing programs of learning, resources, and personnel. This individual
serves as a liaison among students, faculty, staff, administration, and the community at large. This position serves as an active member of
the President’s Council.
