McKee Foods Corporation is seeking a Corporate Human Resources Assistant to join the Corporate Human Resources Department. Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is $17.75 – $21.97, depending on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (other hours as needed)
Job Summary
We are looking for an HR Assistant to handle a variety of administrative duties in the Corporate Human Resources Department. The HR Assistant will perform advanced, diversified secretarial/administrative duties. Duties will include composing and initiating routine correspondence, and resolving routine and some complex inquiries. They will assist the Corporate HR Business Partners in all aspects of HR Services for the business units they support, which includes, but is not limited to:
Answering phone calls and responding to emails inside and outside of the company
Answering employee and applicant HR related questions
Coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates and creating interview packets
Making travel arrangements Corporate HR manager, HR Business Partners and/or visitors
Maintaining the schedules for the Corporate HR Manager and 3 HR Business Partners
Entering various information in Workday (HR information system)
Extracting information from HR information systems through inquiries and running reports
Attending various meetings and taking notes (preferably on laptop), often on serious and highly confidential matters
Initiating background checks for new hires
Completing online I9 verifications
Scheduling drug screens, post-offer medical evaluations and orientation
Processing new hire paperwork
Creating check requests
Assisting with the relocation process for new hires and existing employees
Coordinating lunch for tours and other events
Providing support to HR Shared Services which may include:
Approving internal job applications
Providing employment verifications
Providing new hire announcement information
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
1-2 years of college (>31 semester hours) with 1 year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (2 years of experience = 1 year of education)
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, including effective follow-up and prioritization
Accuracy with strong attention to detail
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute
Excellent communication skills
Excellent writing skills, business grammar, spelling, and punctuation, with the ability to proofread and edit
Strong customer service focus
Interpersonal skills that promote teamwork, cooperation, and relationship building
Ability to work effectively and productively with minimal supervision
High level of initiative
Proven ability to apply independent judgment and complex problem solving skills
Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions while maintaining a professional attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook (searching, calendar functions, etc.)
Ability to organize office processes, business information, and schedules
Dependable with excellent attendance
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources or related field
Experience with Workday or other HR Systems
Ability to type a minimum of 50 words per minute
Familiarity with process improvement techniques such as Lean
