The Payroll & Human Resources Manager is an employee of Devco Management Company. This position is responsible for the completion of payroll and human resources interests of businesses. This includes, but is not limited to, accurate and timely processing of payroll, general ledger maintenance; advisement and assistance to employees on human resource concerns; maintenance and implementation of company benefits; assistance to management level employees on payroll processes, and employee compensation concerns. This individual thrives on accomplishing tasks in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner and maintains a spirit of helpfulness to employees and a professional demeanor in the office environment. Ensures compliance with local and state mandates as it pertains to payroll and human resources.
Payroll Processing & Administration
Maintain and process payrolls for all companies to ensure accurate and timely compensation. Ensure accurate recording of new hires and terminations. Knowledgeable in Paylocity software. Provide payroll reporting to managers to validate payroll results. Pull relevant reports, maintain employee data, and communicate with managers as needed to provide multi-level payroll process results. Maintain G/L entries, logs, and templates. Actively evaluate processes to improve efficiency and transparency. Submit payroll and AP totals on a weekly basis to Accounting Manager and CEO. Respond and complete wage audits, separation notifications and participate in unemployment processes. Stay up to date on all aspects of payroll processes. Anticipate any changes in payroll processing timeframes (e.g., holidays, company closures) to ensure payroll is completed per Paylocity and company deadlines.
Reporting
Compile monthly and quarterly bonus programs based on financial plans prepared by franchisee. Ensure goals are prepared in a timely manner and sent to management teams. Prepare and complete monthly performance review spreadsheets for all businesses in a timely manner. Complete 401k force out and audits annually. Pull quarterly reports and manages W2 communications. Prepare monthly NC COOP invoicing and submit expenses to CEO for review.
Benefits Administration
Communicate with employees regarding policies, programs and benefits based on employment status. Review insurance invoices monthly to ensure accuracy in enrollment and deduction totals. Communicates discrepancies and changes to providers as needed. Manage and execute Open Enrollment annually and maintain new hire enrollment throughout the year. Assist employees in accessing 401k plan, rollover of funds, designating beneficiaries, and requesting loans. Alert employees once eligibility is met for 401k plan. Communicate all plan changes as needed. Audit employment status quarterly to ensure accuracy. Be aware of key provisions as it relates to benefits providers (e.g., fees, cancellation policies, terms of agreements). Submit all agreements and forms in a timely manner based on deadlines. Knowledgeable in all benefits platforms and can assist employees with setup and questions. Establish and maintain relationships with benefits vendors.
Human Resource/Compliance
Advise and assist management teams with HR concerns. Manage Leave of Absence, FMLA and other related policies as needed to ensure compliance. Knowledgeable in TASC platform. Ensure proper filing and maintenance of terminated employees along with I9 documentation. Work with accountant to complete 550 filing and monitor ACA dashboard in Paylocity monthly. Update policies and procedures as changes arise to ensure companies are compliance with all state and local laws. Update employee handbook annually. Consult Catapult as necessary.
