Position Description:
Purpose
The Lam lab () in the Neuroscience Research Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a postdoctoral fellow interested in innate immunity, neuroimmunology and neuroscience research to join the team.
The lab primarily utilize zebrafish and Danionella translucida as model systems to study how the activity of innate immune cells are regulated and how their activity regulates development, wound repair, regeneration, disease pathogenesis and aging in vivo. A variety of approaches such as in vivo confocal live imaging, genetic manipulation, cellular and molecular biology, optogenetics, and photopharmacological techniques are employed in the lab.
The postdoctoral appointee has the unique opportunity to take part in the development of a novel vertebrate model, Danionella translucida, for immune related research and establish a niche for their research program if they wish to pursue.

Position Requirements:
Minimum Required Education: PhD
Minimum Required Experience: None
Preferred Education: A recent or expected Ph.D. degree in biological or biomedical fields (cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, neurobiology/neuroscience, biochemistry, or related fields)
Preferred Experience: Strong skills in molecular biology; fluorescence microscopy; previous background in zebrafish or Danionella translucida is a plus.
