Title: Patient Account Financial Services/Billing SpecialistLocation: WaukeshaFull/Part Time: Full TimeHours/Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.Job Duties: 1. Posts and balances payments, including patient and insurance, by line-item in the practice management system.2. Processes all transactions and claims in practice management system, including: account, follow-up, charges, claims, credits, and remits as assigned.3. Reviews and processes all undistributed transactions and determines and processes refunds as appropriate.4. Reviews coding and charges to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.5. Provides customer service to patients and representatives regarding patient accounts and collects on patient balances.6. Follow up on all outstanding balances to ensure timely reimbursement.7.Process all correspondence received from patients and payors.8. Reviews and submits insurance claims timely to ensure meeting payor requirements.9. Reviews, recommends and refers accounts to collections for further action.10. Processes and reconciles daily deposit.11. Reviews reimbursement to ensure payment is consistent with contract rates.12. Maintains proficiency of medical billing practices, systems, payor, and regulatory requirements.13. Researches all information needed to complete billing process.14. Establishes and communicates payment arrangements with patients per Practice protocols.15. Ensures pertinent information relating to patient accounts and/or payor interaction is appropriately documented.16. Produces and reviews reports as necessary to ensure timely and accurate processing.17. Assists patients and staff with insurance / payor inquiries.18. Process patient credit card payments received via mail.19. Process insurance credit card payments (virtual credit card payments).20. Posts and reviews any charges requiring manual charge entry.21. Adheres to Practice policies, regulatory requirements (ie: Medicare, HIPAA, etc)22. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications: License and Certifications:
Education:
ExperienceMinimum requirement of 1 year of medical billing experience, Epic experience, coding experience, managed care and insurance, proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer service experience.Join the MEA Family!
