Medical Biller/Collector
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our medical billing and collections team. The Medical Biller/Collector will be responsible for accurately billing and collecting payments from patients and insurance companies for medical services rendered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient accounts to ensure that all charges are accurate and properly coded
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims
- Manage and track insurance and patient payments
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records
- Prepare and send monthly billing statements to patients
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in healthcare billing and coding or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing and collections
- Knowledge of medical billing software and electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
