Job Discription
The Clinical Informatics Analyst is a person with clinical experience who works under the supervision of the Senior Clinical Informatics Analyst. The Clinical Informatics Analyst develops and helps maintain clinical applications and databases for clinical users. Technical support is to be provided by answering user questions, troubleshooting workflow issues and system issues as well as documenting and escalating user questions to the appropriate personnel. Job duties may include designing and implementing educational and clinical service programs, scheduling system upgrades and training new hires on clinical applications, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. This position must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; be highly analytical and able to explain complex terminology to administrative personnel, medical staff, clinical staff and other nontechnical professionals. Ultimately, the Clinical Informatics Analyst combines their extensive clinical experience with technological advancements to ensure better patient care. In conjunction with other information systems staff and vendors, this person will assist in problem determination, program testing and program quality control. This position will involve travel between facilities supported by the REI Information Systems Department.
