DESCRIPTION
Mendocino College is seeking a full-time, categorical CAMP Counselor to join our
friendly, dynamic student services department.
The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a unique federally funded educational
support and scholarship program that assists students who are migratory or seasonal farmworkers (or children of such workers) enrolled in
their first year of college, within a cohort model, complete and continue to their second year successfully.
This is a grant funded
position. The grant is subject to continuation pending successful renewal as of July 1, 2024. The initial
contract will be offered for the period of March 1, 2024 – June 30, 2024.
If grant renewal is successful, the
new grant period would be July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2029.

Compensation is dependent on education
and experience.
Annual salary offered at $69,512 – $99,727. Step seven (7) is the maximum step placement based on year for year
teaching experience or two years of FTE work experience in the field per step.

Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes family medical, dental, vision, EAP benefits and
employee life insurance with no monthly premium contribution from the faculty member,. Additional voluntary life insurance is available for
employee purchase. Benefits are effective the first of the month following hire date.
Paid Time Off: The successful candidate
will earn ten (10) days of sick leave per year.
Retirement: This position is eligible for CalSTRS Retirement. Additional,
voluntary 403{b)programs are available.

Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan
background check and completion of TB test.
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural,
disability, geographic and ethnic backgrounds of students, staff, and faculty.
This position requires the use of a personal vehicle while
conducting District business. Must possess a valid (Class C)California Driver’s license and an acceptable driving
record.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical
psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy
or marriage, family and child counseling,

reports; operate a computer and related technology, including virtual and remote services platforms; deal effectively with a wide variety of
personalities and situations using sound judgment; demonstrate professional interpersonal skills by working cooperatively and effectively
with others; understand and carry out verbal and written directions; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; make effective
presentations; work variable locations and hours, including evenings and weekends. Responsible for legally transporting CAMP students to and
from CAMP educational excursions.
