DEPARTMENT
Finance and Accounting Department goal is to ensure the company’s financial sustainability and to support improvement of business profitability. Specifically FAD focus include cash and working capital management, AP/AR, GL, financial reporting, manufacturing costing, internal control, tax, budgeting, and business decision support.
PURPOSE
· Have a clear understanding of each manufacturing cost component, and provide the manufacturing cost per machine line per SKU.
· Strengthen the asset control, including the fixed asset and inventory management.
· Represent Finance/Accounting in the plant to work with the production team, to improve cost efficiency and drive compliance.
· Provide cost study and analysis, and support on management decision-making (such as SKU rationalization, new sourcing project, etc.)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct the monthly book closing for Mercury plant and prepare inventory and COGM reports.
· Prepare and analyze inventory valuations, COGM, and variances analysis (regarding material, labor, overhead, and other costs related to manufacturing products)
· Perform oversight on inventory control and cycle count programs with warehouse managers.
· Develop SOP, apply accounting policies, improve and maintain internal control, and fulfill internal and external audit requirements.
· Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations and reporting.
· Lead the financial management on fixed asset (CIP tracking, capitalization, depreciation, and asset disposals)
· Provide support in the annual budget process
· Perform special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
· Operations, Procurement, Logistic, Internal Control.
· Finance Department including direct report(s) (Asset Management Accountant).
External:
· External Auditors.
· Tax Consultants..
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related Business field; preferably with Master’s degree or accounting/finance designation (i.e. CPA, CMA, CFA)
· 3-5 years manufacturing cost accounting experience
· 3 years controlling or leadership position.
· Knowledge of accounting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
· Strong understanding of manufacturing costing and GAAP.
· Master degree in Accounting, or CPA/CMA a plus
Skills & Abilities
· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
· Possess an acute and thorough attention to detail and accuracy.
· Display initiative and well organized in identifying and resolving problems.
· Advanced communication and leadership skill,
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel is essential.
· SAP costing experience is strongly preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job is in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, email, phones/cell, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. There is sitting and repetitive hand, finger and wrist use.
Must be able to perform general office functions, operate a computer, safely lift up to 20 pounds, and communicate effectively with internal and external constituents.
This position requires the ability to work flexible and extended hours to include weekends.
