Overview:
This is a REMOTE position.
The Analyst-Compensation provides professional and administrative support to the Compensation function. Provides compensation services for designated Mercy client departments on a regional or ministry-wide basis. Serves a project lead on large scale initiatives. Administers selected compensation programs and functions. Makes operating decisions or takes actions of moderate difficulty, which involves interpretation of general policies or instructions. Maintains confidentiality of personnel information and exhibits independent judgment and decision making. Performs all work in accordance with Mercy’s mission, vision, values and service standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Completes compensation related projects on a functional, departmental or job bases.
Analyzes pay relationships to evaluate internal pay equity and external competitiveness.
Participates in compensation surveys and conducts periodic market reviews.
Seeks out ways to improve and streamline modeling and costing of compensation initiatives
Administers performance incentive and bonus programs. Maintains comprehensive and complex Excel workbooks to track and calculate payments.
Administers and maintains a dedicated compensation data warehouse.
Compiles data using database queries to conduct analyses and generate reports.
Proficient in system setup and problem-solving, auditing, and validating data files and processes.
Identifies results that differ from what is expected/projected with new processes and setups and makes corrections and recommendations for improvements.
Understands the implications of technology solutions to workflow, operations, and assists in communicating to key stakeholders.
Accesses the HR ERP system to research job, position and co-worker records concerning pay rates earnings and set-ups. Submits data to process personnel action forms, requisitions and new hire documentation. Answers personnel data related questions and assists leaders and co-workers with system issues.
Interprets FLSA and other HR related regulations to ensure compliance and provide guidance for clients.
Assists in reviewing compensation practices and recommends process improvements; audits personnel, pay and system files and records to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
Key resource for compensation data into and out of vendor system(s).
Submits data to process personnel action forms, requisitions, and new hire documentation.
Reviews job descriptions submitted by leaders and provides guidance regarding job content. Conducts job evaluations and assigns pay ranges. Builds job families and job hierarchies in conjunction with assigned functional clients.
Has good management of special projects. Exhibits analytical and technical knowledge in compiling and evaluating pertinent information. Provides documentation/identifies findings of the project. Shows ability and ease in receiving oral and written instructions. Attentive and responsive to review questions. Completes in a timely, dependable manner.

Qualifications:
Experience: Two years of experience analyzing/managing data using spreadsheets and other data management tools or experience in economics, finance, or programming. Working in a human resources environment preferred.
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, finance or related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Experience: Two or more years experience supporting Compensation functions.
Other: Solid technical and analytical ability using spreadsheet, database and ERP systems and software required, Must be able to work independently under general supervision. Must be able to analyze data, interpret findings and recommend actions, Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills that allow this analyst to effective support Compensation and HR ministry-wide operations.
