Job Description I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives. Meredith is one of the largest branded media companies in the world, reaching more than 200 million consumers globally across multiple platforms. Our portfolio includes influential brands such as People, Martha Stewart Living, Better Homes & Gardens, People, Food & Wine, and Entertainment Weekly. We are looking for a Creative Director who will function as a creative leader, mentor, strategic thinker, and storyteller, who can turn ideas into compelling visuals. They will weigh in on reshaping brand aesthetics including, but not limited to: custom static/motion graphics packages, music and edit decisions during Post Production. This role will report to the Director of Post Production, and collaborate with the Director of Brand Production and editorial teams. II. Essential Job Functions Lead designers and editors creatively, on high-impact content across digital platforms. Create and govern format and aesthetic guidelines for video properties. This includes reshaping style guides, when it comes to design, animation, music and editing. Make critical decisions on creative in order to raise the bar on craft and quality. Collaborate heavily with brand leads when brainstorming fresh approaches to current and new series. Provide strategic guidance to ensure that creative solutions support specific business goals, based on metrics. III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered. Education: A bachelor s degree in a related field. Experience: 10+ years of creative experience within video with an emphasis on design and editing at a digital first media company, agency or department. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough understanding of digital and social video content aesthetics, best practices & trends. Deep understanding of Adobe Tools. Graphic Design & Editing experience. Experience of cross department collaboration. Proven experience executing successful video creative across digital platforms. Strong ability to provide clear creative direction, and timely/helpful feedback to improve creative processes and work on a budget and schedule.
