Telecommunications Design Manager
Overview
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Design Manager oversees all aspects of telecommunications project design, including fiber, coax, tower site upgrades, and all hybrid combinations thereof. This is a highly responsible position that directs the daily work of drafters, designers, and related staff while coordinating closely with project managers, outside plant engineers, construction staff, GIS professionals, and Executive Level Professionals.
The candidate must have documented experience and an in-depth understanding of telecommunications design principles, outside plant engineering, and all telecommunications construction techniques. The Design Manager must be able to anticipate, respond to, and otherwise resolve design issues related to fiber/coax routing, project phasing, permitting, construction methods, cost containment, serviceability, and customer needs, among others.
The Design Manager’s ultimate responsibility is to manage the daily work of assigned staff in the development and design of innovative, customer-focused, high-quality, and appropriate outside plant design solutions. The Design Manager will develop, maintain, and be responsible for quality assurance standards regarding all work that comes out of the Design Office.
